Given the brilliant response I had after asking my followers on Instagram and Facebook what they thought about the idea of being able to send a loved one a ‘hug’ in the post, I decided to launch my ‘Send a hug’ range!
Here was the reason behind them – we have all inevitably been missing our loved ones during the lockdown due to Covid-19. Lots of us haven’t been able to see our parents, relatives, friends or other loved ones. Some of us have been feeling quite lonely and isolated. I have already had messages from people who have told me they know someone struggling, and to be able to send them a gift through the post would really cheer them up.
To be honest, after launching them on my social media platforms they flew off the shelves and so I had to work day and night to catch up with orders and make more batches. It proved to me that people really do care about their friends and family and want to have a way to show them that they are thinking of them. It inspired me to expand my range and not only offer hug heart necklaces, but to offer something for children and key workers too. There have been many different reasons for people buying them and everyone has a story to tell – missed birthdays, illness, bereavement, loneliness, a thank you – I have been overwhelmed with the response and feedback. So many people have been lifted by these little gestures I decided I had to keep it as a permanent range and add them to my website.
They have been carefully priced to make it affordable for people to send to their loved ones – especially as a lot of people’s jobs have been uncertain due to the Coronavirus.
